• Job: Life Skills Coaches

We are currently seeking enthusiastic, dynamic, organized and experienced individuals to serve as Life Skills Coaches for ADVANCE LA, a unique program serving young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Learning Disabilities, ADHD, and other special needs. At this time, we are interested in coaches who live in the West Hills/Calabasas area! Please feel free to still apply if you live outside these areas.

Full time and Part time positions available! Part-time positions ideal for graduate students as some clients are seen in the afternoons, evenings, and/or weekends.

Experience with special needs population required. Clients are typically seen in college setting, home, community and/or workplace. Coaches must own dependable vehicle, current insurance, and be approved by agency insurance company to drive on the job. Must be able to work independently and take initiative to effectively network with community resources.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
– Assist clients with the development and implementation of their personal goals and objectives (educational, vocational, social, etc)
-Function as a case manager and coordinate all aspects of clients program plans
– Provide the various supports required for clients to achieve success in school, work, and home
– Track client progress and report to team members
– Communicate with instructors, dorm personnel, parents, employers, therapists and others in the community to gauge client progress and identify additional needs
– Provide parents/caregivers with regular updates regarding clients progress and relevant concerns

Qualifications:

- BA in psychology, social work, public health, or other related disciplines. Graduate work preferred.

- Minimum two years experience in the social service or special education arena
– Experience and/or training working with young adults with special needs
– Experience in behavioral intervention preferred
– Valid CA driver’s license with a minimum of 3 years of driving experience; good driving record and the ability to be insured by the agency insurer. Must have less than 2 points on license!
