• Job: Seeking Qualified Residential Counselors!!

The Help Group’s newest residential treatment program, Live. Advance. LA, is seeking qualified individuals for several open Residential Counselor positions! Please see our minimum qualifications below. 

Our mission is to advance young people toward their highest potential, leading happy, healthy and independent lives. The goal of Live. Advance. LA is to provide a supportive living environment that fosters independent living skills, academic, and work successes. 

Advance LA is a program for young adults from 18-29 years old, who may require more support to live independently, than typical peers. Residents typically have average to high intelligence, but may have difficulty with organizational skills, time management, and other executive functioning skills. Residents may have ADHD, Asperger’s Syndrome, learning disabilities, or social and communicative difficulties. Residents must show behavioral stability, but may require assistance in motivation. We are seeking highly motivated, experienced, and dynamic residential counselors for this exciting new program on a local university campus.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• BA required.
• One year experience working with young adults with autism spectrum disorders or learning disabilities desirable, preferably in a residential setting with young adults.
• One year experience in a residential setting strongly desirable.  Desire to work with young adults and adolescents with special needs and capable of following written plans of service. 
• Valid California driver license and good driving record required. 
• Must be insurable with the agency’s insurance company for driving.
