For the second consecutive year The Help Group was so pleased to team up with Campbell Hall School and Special Olympics Southern California for an incredible day of sports on May, 24. Seventy-seven Help Group students participated in the Special Olympics events which included running and obstacle courses. More than 125 student volunteers from Campbell Hall also participated in the event, which meant a lot to one parent attending who said, “This is a time when my child is accepted, it was so touching to see how great the Campbell students were with our kids from The Help Group.”

Pamela Clark, director of autism schools at The Help Group, was also appreciative of how great the students interacted with each other. “It was truly a well-organized event—incredibly planned and implemented,” she said. “Campbell Hall is such a welcoming host school with wonderfully supportive students. Our Help Group students had an amazing time and thoroughly enjoyed their time with their Campbell Hall buddies.”

Echoing similar thoughts Kim Villa, program specialist for the Special Olympics Santa Clarita & Tri-Valley Region, said the highlight was seeing the support the students gave to one another. “I commend The Help Group and Campbell Hall for making it such a great a day.”

A special thank you to the volunteers, students, teachers, Campbell Hall Headmaster, Julian Bull and Campbell Hall 9th Grade Associate Dean, Kevin Kelley.
