About The Help Group
The Help Group is a large (900+ employees) innovative organization serving children with special needs. Founded in 1975, The Help Group is the largest, most innovative and comprehensive nonprofit organization of its kind in the United States serving children with special needs related to autism, Asperger’s disorder, learning disabilities, ADHD, mental retardation, abuse and emotional problems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Place 2 clients in competitive employment every month
Help 6 clients maintain employment for 90 days every 3 months
Obtain at least 2 vocational referrals each month.
Provide vocational assessment, employment preparation, job development and job placement services to disabled clients.
Develop an Individual Vocational Plan for all authorized Department of Rehabilitation clients.
Have and employ a working knowledge of each client Individual Education Plan (I.E.P.)
Conduct job clubs as directed by the Vocational Director.
Collect client satisfaction questionnaires on a quarterly basis.
Maintain client information in a confidential manner.
Maintain client charts in a responsible manner and meet all paperwork deadline requirements.
Maintain productivity rate at required program standards.
Be certified in (P.A.R.T), and use these procedures as needed according to school policy for situation control in a crisis.
Under supervision of the Vocational Director, maintain effective job development and coaching methods.
Determine a work plan for consumers and all activities relating to job placement.
Identify potential community employers and make presentations.
Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with agency staff,
B.A.degree required. Education and experience in mental health, social services, business or related field. Education and experience in mental health, social services, business or related field. Two years continuous work experience working with young adults (ages 16-22) with disabilities. Experience or training in sales and marketing helpful. Must be able to drive and have a clean DMV report. Job development experience is preferred. High energy, attention to detail, well organized and impeccable time management skills required. Must be able to work Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:30pm.
