16-Hour Parent Training 

Help in the Home is a full service, family-focused approach to improving the lives of children and adolescents with autism and other developmental challenges. Vendored by local Regional Centers, Help in the Home offers a 16-hour parent training program to teach parents the basic principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and evidence-based intervention. Instruction will focus on the needs of families with children ages 18 months to 22 years with an autism spectrum diagnosis or related condition. This program will prepare parents to be working members of the treatment team once services begin and is required by the North Los Angeles County Regional Center prior to qualification for Behavior Intervention Services.

Parents will be provided with 16 hours of instruction covering the following areas:

10 Environmental/ Visual supports for teaching skills including token systems
11 Social skills / Play Dates
12 Chaining and task analyses to teach self-help skills
13 Discrete Trial Training and play-based ABA to teach new skills
14 Discrete Trial Training and play-based ABA to teach new skills
15 Generalization and creating learning opportunities across environments

Help in the Home is now accepting registrations for home-based Behavior Intervention Services. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), the most scientifically validated treatment approach for autism, informs everything we do. We create treatment plans specifically tailored to your child's needs and may employ Discrete Trial Training (DTT), Pivotal Response Training (PRT) or other play-based strategies.
