
Overview
Stepping Stones Intensive Day Treatment Program for Preschool Children provides a therapeutic, nurturing and enriching environment for children, ages 2.5 to 5, who need early intervention for social, emotional, behavioral, neurological and/or psychological challenges.
Program Details
Stepping Stones is a comprehensive early intervention program, which utilizes a strengths-based approach to promote social and emotional growth, school readiness and overall family wellness, by offering the following:
- Structured daily schedule Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 1:00 PM
- Small class size and high staff to student ratio
- Spanish speaking therapists and staff
- Individual, group and family therapy
- Parent training based upon Evidence-Based Practices
- Parent support groups
- Group therapies such as music, speech and sensory integration
- Psychiatric services and medication support
- Referrals and parent support for IEP and Regional Center services
- Transportation may be available
Eligibility
The child must...
- Have Full scope Medi-Cal insurance
- Demonstrate social, emotional and/or behavioral difficulties that impedes him or her from attending a typical preschool program
- Have a parent/caregiver able and willing to actively participate in treatment
- Severe temper tantrums, defiance, aggression, hyperactivity, impulse control, depression, anxiety, withdrawal and/or poor social skills
- Attachment issues
- Post-traumatic stress related to abandonment, abuse, neglect, witnessed domestic violence and/or other trauma
- Exposure in utero to alcohol and/or other substances (FASD)
