Spring is in the air, which means spring break is just around the corner. The Help Group’s Kids Like Me program will offer Spring Break camps Monday, March 30th through Friday, April 3rd at both the Sherman Oaks and Culver City Campuses. Parents can choose to register for all five days or just three days of the full-day camp.

Spring break camps will provide a safe and enriching atmosphere for children with autism spectrum disorder and other special needs to engage, experience, and explore in a variety of camp activities, including outside games, sensory play, spring-themed arts and crafts, animal-assisted therapy activities, field trips, water play (weather permitting) and much more!

Each of Kids Like Me’s unique day camps strives to developmentally and chronologically match children across the spectrum to ensure an appropriate peer group for learning and fun. Village Glen Day Camp is a specialized social skills camp designed for children ages 3-13 with Asperger’s Disorder, high-functioning autism, and related social challenges. Camp Sunshine is available for children and teens ages 3-21 with moderate to severe autism and other developmental disabilities. Teens on the Go offers  a social skills camp with daily field trips for teens ages 13-18 with Asperger’s Disorder, high functioning autism, and related social challenges.

“Camp is a great opportunity for both children and teens to make progress practicing and generalizing social skills,” explains Kids Like Me Program Director Nicole Webb. “All our activities are carefully designed to support our young people to engage appropriately with their peers and counselors and to develop positive behaviors – all while doing fun, age-appropriate activities.”
