The Help Group is pleased to announce the expansion of its Culver City Campus. In response to the critical need for autism services in our community, The Help Group is breaking ground on a new school and therapy building. This state-of-the-art facility will accommodate 200 more students.

The Help Group Summit 2012 – Advances and Best Practices in Autism, Learning Disabilities and ADHD took place on October 26th and 27th at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles. With First 5 California as the Major Sponsor and ABC 7 as Media Sponsor, this year’s event featured 30 leading experts who provided cutting edge information to 600 attendees.

Advance LA’s first annual conference prep.launch.elevate: Supporting Teens & Young Adults in their Transition to Independence was a groundbreaking event. Held on May 11th at the American Jewish University in Los Angeles, the conference featured more than 20 leading experts who presented the latest breakthroughs and best practices in supporting young adults in their transition to independence.

John Nogawski, President, CBS Television Distribution, was the recipient of The Help Group 2011 Help Humanitarian Award presented at the Teddy Bear Ball on Monday, December 5. Mr. Nogawski was honored in recognition of his outstanding philanthropic spirit and commitment to children with special needs. That same evening, The Help Group presented its Champion for Children Award to California Senate President pro Tem Darrell Steinberg and its Corporate Philanthropy Award to Microsoft Inc. The guests were treated to a speical performance when Brian Wilson, one of popular music’s most revered figures and influential composers, took to the stage.

Autism Center Ribbon Cutting Celebration
It was a dream come true when The Help Group, Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa, Supervisor Zev Yaroslavksy, a host of dignitaries and special guests proudly gathered on January 24th for a ribbon cutting celebration to mark the official opening of the new Help Group Autism Center.
