Resource Fair Slider

The Help Group will be hosting its 5th Annual Special Needs Resource Fair Sunday, May 17, 2015 from 11 to 3pm at the Sherman Oaks campus.

This free event is an opportunity for parents and professionals to connect with a variety of vendors and discover the wonderful resources that Los Angeles has to offer its Special Needs Community including those with autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, ADHD, developmental delays, abuse and emotional problems.

There will be a diverse mix of exhibitors present that will offer resources for children, youth and adults, including local colleges and universities, parent support groups, medical and therapeutic services, educational supports, financial and estate planning, legal and advocacy services, respite services, recreational and camping programs, vocational and residential programs and much more.

The afternoon will also offer some family fun time including our Paws and Pals therapy dogs, Special Spirit Inc. mini horses, Lakeshore Learning arts and crafts table and an open playground.

“Our Resource Fair allows families of children and adults with special needs to enjoy time together in a fun and safe environment, to find local resources and to socialize with other families in the community,” explained Nicole Webb, Kids Like Me Program Director.

Proceeds from booth sales help generate scholarship funds for the Kids Like Me camp programs which are offered during the summer, winter and spring at The Help Group’s Sherman Oaks and Culver City locations.  The camps are specially designed by Help Group professionals and therapists to foster social skills and friendships, for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other special needs.

“The staff at the Kids Like Me-Summer Camp, went out of their way to treat my daughter and I with caring and respect.–My daughter has such a great time during the activities, she doesn’t even notice she’s expanding her social skills!” remarked a Kids Like Me parent.

The Resource Fair is free to attend and open to everyone in the community.
