January 2023 Newsletter
To our Kaleidoscope community,
Happy New Year from all of us here at Kaleidoscope! We hope you and your families had a safe and healthy holiday season and time to reflect on the new year ahead. We are excited to kick off 2023 with a renewed sense of purpose and commitment to our LGBTQ+ community. Stay tuned for several new events for our teens and young adults, as well as a book raffle in the Spring! As always, we appreciate your continued financial support, and you can help us to keep these programs going by donating here.
In this month’s blogpost Program Coordinator Leo Kirkham reflects on both the gains and losses our LGBTQ+ community has experienced this past year, while also looking to the new year ahead for inspiration and hope.
Lastly, we invite you to follow us on social media and keep current on our clubs and groups meetings as well as special events. Please comment, share, and tag your friends, as we celebrate all things LGBTQIA+ on Instagram @kaleidoscopelgbtq, and follow us on Facebook at KaleidoscopeLGBTQ.
Wishing you a safe and healthy holiday season.

The New Year is a time for reflection and renewal. For the LGBTQ community, the New Year can be a time to remember the past year’s accomplishments and losses for queer and trans people.
Upcoming LGBTQIA+ Events, Services & More
Our wonderful Kaleidoscope Board Member, Luckie Alexander, is the author of a new book, “The In Between”. As Luckie describes, this book is a window into Luckie’s mind as a Black artist, advocate, activist, and family transman. Filled with stories, poems, thoughts, and visual art that represent the joy, anger, and epiphanies of Luckie’s journey through gender, emotion, struggle and triumph – this is truly a book to be enjoyed and celebrated.
To celebrate the release of the book, Kaleidoscope is raffling off a signed copy to the lucky winner. To enter the raffle, please enter your email address below. The winner’s name will be drawn at Luckie’s book signing which will be scheduled in February 2023.
