October 2023 Newsletter

To our Advance LA Community,

Is there anything more lovely than autumn? As the great philosopher, Taylor Swift, said, “Past the pumpkin patch and the tractor rides, look now, the sky is gold.”  Wishing you all the wonders of the fall season!

In October, we celebrate ADHD Awareness Month. While ADHD certainly comes with challenges, there is also much to celebrate as many folks with ADHD consider it a superpower! In this month’s blogpost we highlight the benefits of an ADHD diagnosis.

Advance LA’s mission is to help our clients advance to independent adulthood. Our Life Skills Coaches meet with their clients remotely, or in person, to provide support and guidance in areas including academics, executive functioning, time management, organization, social/dating skills, job/internship obtainment and maintenance, and independent living skills.

Please contact us at advancela@thehelpgroup.org for more information.

Wishing you all the best,
Jeri Rochman, JD, MS

Advance LA

Everyone can understand what it feels like to have a hard time sitting still or to find it almost impossible to stay focused during a college lecture, or to constantly misplace your phone or car keys. For some people, these challenges are so pervasive and persistent that they interfere with every aspect of their home, academics, social/dating life, and work Iife.

If someone receives a diagnosis of ADHD, they may need support to counter the challenges they face. But there is much to celebrate about having ADHD as many folks consider it their Superpower. Here are some of the benefits:
